STRIKE A POSE!

Posing is one thing that is very important in modeling because the wrong pose can change a picture completely, just as much as the right pose can! So I just wanted to give a few tips that I follow with in my work when I am in front of the camera.

1. Avoid the “deer in the headlights” look.

  • This is when your looking straight into the camera with no emotion in your face... you can pose looking directly into the camera but always "speak with your eyes"

2. MOVE. Don’t get stuck in a pose for more than 3 seconds.

  • No one wants to see the same pose too many times... usually moving slow and gracefully helps capture great images

2. No claw hands or white knuckle fists allowed.

  • be sure to keep your fingers together or slightly apart like  you would if your rubbing something. Fingers spread too far apart look kinda web-like or manly

3. Practice good posture.

  • Practice always makes perfect...so having good posture in  everyday life will make it come naturally in front of the camera

4. Be asymmetrical.

  • Always be aware of "your lines" the body speaks

5. Don’t always look at the camera.

  • don't be afraid to look off and capture you subtle off guard  shots

Always remember to practice your posing it can only help you... also do test shoots so that you know what you look like when trying certain poses with certain looks. I hope these tips are of help to you and if there are any questions feel free to ask and you can also leave comments!
